Fall bird walk at FENCE on Oct. 12

Published 8:16 am Wednesday, October 11, 2017

Foothills Equestrian Nature Center will offer their fourth seasonal bird walk of the year on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 9 a.m. This educational, guided bird walk is open and free to the community. FENCE welcomes everyone from first time birders to advanced birders to join international bird guide, Aaron Steed, for a walk in the woodlands and fields to look for a variety of migrant songbirds.

Fall migration will be past its peak but there will still be much to see in the way of birds. Warblers, vireos, tanagers, grosbeaks and more will still be passing through, on their way south to their wintering grounds in the tropics. Each day offers something new and unexpected making this an exciting time of year for birding! Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a water bottle. Guests are welcome and encouraged to bring binoculars and bird guides along for this walk as well.

FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon. For more information about this or upcoming event call 828-859-9021, email info@fence.org , or visit www.fence.org.
