Chainsaws, chippers, dump trucks, rakes, you name it — Melrose Ave. residents were using it to begin clearing out from under fallen and uprooted trees and branches from the Oct. 8 storm, which hit the area as a remnant of Hurricane Nate. As of press time, the National Weather Service still had not determined whether the storm was a tornado, as many residents of Tryon and Lake Lanier believe it was.
