Garden club to hold fall meeting at vineyard

Tryon-based Green Blades Garden Club is having its fall meeting at Parker-Binns Vineyard, Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. Prospective new members are welcome to join.  

Events scheduled for the next few months include tours of local specialty gardens such as a private four seasons garden, a lavender farm, and a collection of Japanese maples.

Organized in 1952, Green Blades is a community-based philanthropic and educational non-profit dedicated to the encouragement and development of garden, conservation, beautification projects and pocket parks around Tryon and Polk County.

Educational programs and activities throughout the year include master gardener courses, monthly events, maintenance and support of downtown Tryon gardens, and work for a vegetable seed bank for the Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry providing community members the opportunity to grow their own vegetables.
