Wolverines pick up 9-0 WHC win at Mountain Heritage

Polk County’s girls tennis team made its first Western Highlands Conference road trip a success on Thursday, sweeping Mountain Heritage 9-0 in Burnsville.

The Wolverines improved to 9-2 overall, 2-0 in WHC play. Polk County hosts East Rutherford on Monday in a non-conference match before hosting Owen on Tuesday for a key conference battle.

Three Wolverines – Hannah Jenne, Julia Griffin and Bella Marino – notched 10-0 wins in singles while Tana Harris (10-4), Haven Dufford (10-3) and Virginia Rostick (10-2) all had easy wins.

Jenne and Harris teamed for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, with Ava Marino and Sara Muse scoring an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles and Trinity Branham and Willow Arkell winning 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
