Bulletin photographer to teach tips, offer advice at ICC class

Mark Schmerling, Tryon Daily Bulletin photographer, is offering a photography class at the Isothermal Community College Polk Center beginning Monday, Sept. 18 from 1–4 p.m. The class runs through Oct. 23 and there are a few slots left available. Mark will be harnessing his incredible skills as a photographer to teach others how to capture wonderful works of art with their cameras.

In this class, Mark will start by teaching you the basics of camera settings, including ISO, shutter speed, aperture settings, and more. The class will continue to explore focal length lenses, recognizing light quality and direction, different types of light for different types of photographs, the use of tripods, the components of a good photograph, and how to frame a photograph. This class will include at least one field trip to photograph moving water.
