Ann Hultin Kiesau

Ann Hultin Kiesau ended her life’s journey on September 7, 2017. Born March 16, 1941, in Kingsport, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Carl Frederick and Sadie Brinkley Hultin.

She graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School in 1959. She graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.A. in English in 1963. She later achieved a M.Ed. from Converse College.

She married Dr. Kyle F. Kiesau, also from Kingsport, Tenn., in 1963. They made Spartanburg, S.C. their home in 1973 after his residency in Charlotte, N.C. and a tour of duty in Fort Benning, Ga. They retired to Lake Adger, N.C. in 2013.

She was a current member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent where she served on the Altar Guild. She was a former member of the Spartanburg Debutante Club, the Talisman Garden Club, and remained a member of the Novel Lovers Book Club.

Playing duplicate bridge was her passion and she was proud to have become a Life Master Bridge player. Her love of bridge might have only been equaled by her love of reading. She was an extremely kind person and she loved to cook. The most important thing in her life was her family.

She is survived by her husband Kyle; daughter, Jennifer Roberts (Webb) and their two daughters, Chloe and Penelope; daughter-in-law, Star Kiesau and her children, Augusta Harris (Tyler) and Lyle Kiesau; and sister, Linda Winn. She is predeceased by a son, Christian Kiesau and a sister, Susan Hultin.

A private interment will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Advent Columbarium.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Episcopal Church of the Advent Foundation, 141 Advent Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.

The family will be at the home.
