The 1-yard touchdown run that Polk County quarterback Dillon Overholt recorded in the third quarter of Friday’s 35-14 win over R-S Central had a bit of added statistical significance.

Overholt scored the 8,0000th point in Polk County football history on the touchdown, that mark being surpassed in the program’s 332nd game.

In those 332 games, Polk County has now outscored its opponents 8,021-6,404.

It took 40 games for the Wolverines to score its most recent 1,000 points, with Polk County reaching the 7,000-point milestone on Nov. 15, 2013 in a 45-13 win over Madison.
