Wolverines romp to straight-set win over R-S Central

Polk County earned its second straight win on Tuesday, sweeping R-S Central in a non-conference volleyball match at Polk.
The Wolverines improved to 4-2 with the 25-15, 25-22, 25-19 victory. Polk County hosts Brevard on Thursday night in another non-conference clash that concludes its five-game homestand.
Reagan Waddell had 14 kills, 16 digs and three assists for Polk, with Grace Lauer recording seven kills, Marilyn Castillo adding six kills and Carolina Castillo notching five kills. Ansley Lynch had five kills, two blocks and 15 digs, with Kendall Hall posting 25 digs and two aces. Sydney Waldman had 18 assists and 11 digs and Lauren Ketwitz had 16 assists and nine digs.
“I tried to challenge them to really have a lot of energy, to talk and be alive,” said Polk County head coach Molly Hill. “I felt like they did that, especially in the third set.
“It was a good win to get us ready for Thursday. That will be a big one.”
Polk County’s junior varsity improved to 3-3 with a 25-3, 25-14 thumping.
