Tryon Little Theater’s own Reverend Spikes

The Reverend Spikes, appearing in Tryon Little Theater’s upcoming show “Greater Tuna,” is a man close to God, always looking out for the wellbeing of his flock. He worries so much about the morals of his small Texas community, that he founded Smut Snatchers of the New Order, of which he is president. One of the most effective things, he’s found, is to send out a book-snatching squad to the Tuna High School library to erase certain words that might be “possibly offensive or misunderstandable” to pre-college students.

You can learn more about the Reverend Spikes’ good works if you get tickets for “Greater Tuna,” opening September 14 at the Tryon Little Theater’s Workshop at 516 S. Trade St in Tryon. Running for two weekends, tickets can be purchased online at www.tltinfo.org or at the Workshop box office opening Thursday, Sept. 7, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Check the website, or call 828-859-2466 for more information.
