In addition to the four programs of the 2017-18 concert season, the Tryon Concert Association will bring two short Friday evening events to the Tryon Fine Arts Center. These one-hour concerts will be a pleasant way to start your weekend.

On Friday, November 17, Tryon’s own Elizabeth (Beth) Child will present an hour of enjoyable piano music for your entertainment. Beth is a graduate of the Juilliard School where she earned a doctorate in musical arts performance. Prior to that she had earned her undergraduate degree in music at Converse College in Spartanburg and her master’s degree at the University of Michigan. Beth performed on concert stages in New York for 20 years before returning to Tryon in 2001, now her permanent home.

Trio Tapestry

The string ensemble, Trio Tapestry, will perform on Friday, February 23, 2018. Members of this group include violinist, Joanna Mulfinger Lebo, classical guitarist Amy Brucksch and cellist Sharon Mulfinger Gerber. They bring music of Gypsy jazz and contemporary soundscapes as well as some classical favorites and Spanish serenades.
