Beekeepers to meet Thursday at Ag Center

Published 3:06 pm Tuesday, August 15, 2017

The Polk County Beekeepers Association meets monthly from February through September at the Mill Spring Ag Center. The group is led by experienced beekeepers and covers topics and questions from the local beekeepers.

Now that fall is approaching and the honey flow has ended, beekeepers should be preparing their hives for winter.

The speakers for the August meeting will be Larry Vickery and Dennis Iskra who will discuss what’s going on in the hive and what beekeepers should be doing now and in the next month. Larry is a fourth generation beekeeper and Dennis has been keeping bees for six years.
