Four file for three open council seats in Landrum

Current mayor running unopposed

 LANDRUM-This year’s City of Landrum election will see a race for three seats on the city council and the incumbent mayor running unopposed.

Filing for the Landrum City Council election ended on Wednesday, Aug. 9. Filing had been open since July 14.

Incumbent Mayor Bob Briggs was the only one to file for mayor while incumbent council members Randy Wohnig, Tammy Cox and Billy Inman also filed for re-election, along with newcomer Daniel Prince.

The 2017 elected council members will join current members John Carruth, Jon Matheis and Joyce Whiteside.

Municipal elections are run non-partisan and there is no primary held no matter how many people file.

The general election will be on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017.
