Back-to-school events will be held at all Polk County schools on Thursday, Aug. 24 as the district prepares for the first day of classes on August 28. • Sunny View Elementary, Meet the Teacher, 3-5 p.m.

• Tryon Elementary, Meet the Teacher, 3-5 p.m.

• Polk Central Elementary, Open House, 4-6 p.m.

• Polk County Middle School, Grades 7-8: Meet the Teacher, 3:30-5 p.m.

• Polk County Middle School, Grade 6: Opening Meeting, 4:30-5 p.m.; Meet the Teacher, 5-6 p.m.

• Polk County High School, Freshman and New Student Orientation, 7-8:30 p.m.
