Polk County District Court Results

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 254 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Cheryl N. Alexander was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Alexander was fined $100.

Logan Alaina Bogus was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Bogus was fined $90 and court costs.

Byron Allan Born was convicted of resisting a public officer. Born was sentenced to seven days in jail with credit for time served.

Wayne Lee Brant was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Brant was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $50 fine and court costs.

Justin Paul Brown was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Brown was fined $40 and court costs.

William Marshal Davis was convicted of driving while license revoked-impaired revocation. Davis was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $75 fine and court costs.

Daniel Clifford Denton was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Denton was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Lewis Marion Denton was convicted of three counts of rear seat belt violation. Denton was fined $60.

Cory Nathaniel Glisson was convicted of fish trout water during closed season. Glisson was to pay court costs.

Gregory Allen Glisson was convicted of fish trout water during closed season. Glisson was fined $35 and court costs.

Terry Lynn Henry was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Henry was fined $100. Mandy Lynn Hostler was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Hostler was fined $100.

Samantha T. Lawson was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Lawson was fined $50 and court costs.

April Michele Loftis was convicted of resisting public officer and possession of methamphetamine. Loftis was sentenced to two years supervised probation, a $50 fine and court costs.

Enrique Medel Lopez was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Lopez was fined $40 and court costs.

Larence Arthur Meadows was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Meadows was fined $94 and court costs.

Michael David Merrow was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Merrow was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $50 fine and court costs.

Han Sik Park was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Park was fined $40 and court costs.

Gabriel Callie Ricks was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Ricks was to pay court costs.

Edgar J. Rodriguez was convicted of speeding 84 mph in a 70 mph zone. Rodriguez was fined $56 and court costs.

Miguel S. Rodriguez was convicted of failure to notify DMV of address change. Rodriguez was to pay court costs.

Stephanie Marl Upton was convicted of possession of stolen goods/property. Upton was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for time served.

Jason Erik Walker was convicted of speeding 54 mph in a 45 mph zone. Walker was to pay court costs.

Kiana Lee Waters was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Waters was fined $50.

Leon Rakim Williamson was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Williamson was fined $100 and court costs.

In Polk County District Court on Monday, July 31, 2017, with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 94 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Syrus Cole Pigate was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Pigate was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

James Keith Pruitt Jr. was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Pruitt was fined $40 and court costs.

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, with Judge Emily G. Cowan presiding, 53 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Ragan Dewayne Thompson was convicted of possession of alcohol with 50 ft. of prohibited area. Thompson was fined $50 and court costs.

Polk County Sheriff Monthly Report

For the Month of July 2017 the Polk County Sheriff’s Office patrolled 22,234 miles, answered 630 calls for service, did 965 house checks, 2,491 business checks, 1,319 church checks, and 5 public assists.

The office served 72 civil papers, and 44 criminal papers.

The department made 14 felony arrests, 47 misdemeanor arrests, and issued 56 citations.

The Polk County Jail booked 62 males, and 24 females, for a total of 86 inmates booked.
