Bill Jones, president and founder of Carolina Native Nursery, a specialty grower of native shrubs and perennials, will be the guest speaker at the Foothills Association of Master Gardeners’ Lecture Series on Aug. 7 at 1:30 p.m. The presentation will be at the Polk County Extension Office at 79 Carmel Lane in Columbus (behind the Senior Center on Skyuka Rd.). The lecture is open to the public, free of charge, and no reservation is required.

Bill has been talking about native plants, why they’re so important, and how you can be a native plant advocate since his company was founded 15 years ago. Bill will review four important aspects of the advantages of planting natives in your garden and will lead a discussion to give you a better understanding of the subject. He will also talk about which plants are great choices for your home landscape. Please invite your friends and neighbors to attend this informative and interesting discussion!
