Chef and the Fire Houses to serve Landrum firefighters

Landrum’s firefighters will be eating a well-deserved meal this Monday, July 31, when Chef John Cappadona, of Chef & The Fire Houses, takes over the firehouse kitchen to prepare a hearty and healthy meal for about 30 people. This is the third firehouse that Cappadona has visited in recent months, preparing meals for firefighters and their families as a way to show appreciation for all they do for the community.

Monday’s menu will include flat iron steak, Caesar salad with parmesan crisps, sautéed green beans with Vidalia onions, Yukon Gold and sweet potato mashed potato swirl, and apple strudel.

A plaque will also be given out Monday night to a deserving firefighter. The mayor of Landrum is expected to attend.

Food Lion and Bi-Lo also contributed gift cards, and Clayton’s provided a plaque.

After Landrum’s dinner, Cappadona will focus on the Green Creek and Mill Spring fire departments. The community is welcome to contribute to the effort through a GoFundMe account, GoFundMe.com/chef-the-firehouse, or call him at 828-335-4169.
