Committee requests memorabilia

Attention graduates of Stearns School: memorabilia of all kinds is needed. In 2017, the Stearns School building turned 100 years old which is a cause for celebration. A planning committee has been organized and its members are looking for any articles pertaining to Stearns School or Columbus High School and the Central Institute.

If anyone has old photos, class photos, school certificates or any thing else from Stearns School the committee would love to see them. Should folks have articles that they would like to display or will allow duplication, please call 894-3051 and ask for Bethene Garrett.

“We are looking for all types of items,” said Pat McCool, member of the 100th anniversary planning committee. “Please look through old family pictures and other keepsakes to rediscover what you may have. We would love to see any uniform or book bag with the name “Stearns Stingrays.”

Current plans are to have an open house celebration to coincide with the Discover Columbus efforts to promote Columbus Day on the first Saturday in October.
