Polk County District Court Results

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 135 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Austin Nicholas Barns was convicted of breaking and or entering. Barns was sentenced to one year supervised probation and court costs.

Jessica Marie Boyd was convicted of no operator’s license. Boyd was fined $50 and court costs.

Jackie Lee Bradley was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Bradley was fined $40 and court costs.

Jesse Lee Brooks was convicted of reckless driving to endanger and failure to appear. Brooks was sentenced to seven days in jail with credit for time served.

Bobby Joe Burrell was convicted of two counts of misdemeanor probation violation. Burrell was sentenced to two days in jail then probation terminated.

Sandra Arlene Clark was convicted of reckless driving to endanger. Clark was fined $100 and court costs.

Garico Sharod Dowdle was convicted of speeding 95 mph in a 65 mph zone. Dowdle was fined $200 and court costs.

Betsy Joellen Evans was convicted of speeding 52 mph in a 35 mph zone. Evans was fined $50 and court costs.

Stephanie Leigh Gural was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Gural was fined $25 and court costs.

John Reynolds Howland was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Howland was fined $40 and court costs.

Richard Blane Kline was convicted of possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Kline was fined $50 and court costs.

Paul Junior Miller II was convicted of failure to wear seat belt-driver. Miller was fined $25.50 and court costs.

Michael Purdy was convicted of resisting public officer. Purdy was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 50 hours of community service and court costs.

Timothy Edwin Russell was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Russell was to pay court costs.
