Officers were met with an injured male, Glenn David Holcombe, 58, of Swannanoa.

A short distance away, officers discovered Rice and learned the two were acquainted with one another, according to sheriff reports.

The sheriff’s office says Rice lured Holcombe to a rural driveway, where Rice assaulted Holcombe and robbed Holcombe of his wallet, a firearm and some cash.

Holcombe was transported to the hospital, treated and released, according to sheriff’s office reports.

Rice was still being held at the Polk County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond as of Friday, July 14.
