Cody Andrew Brown

Humble, selfless, fun-loving Cody Andrew Brown, 23 of Tryon, N.C. passed away July 9, 2017.

Born April 5, 1994, he was the beloved son of Lisa McFalls Brown of Tryon, N.C., Kevin Brown of Greer, S.C. and endeared brother of Kyle (Casey) of Denver, N.C., Kailyn Brown of the home and a loving uncle to Logan Brown.

A 2012 Polk County High School graduate, Cody worked as a HVAC Installation Mechanic with Price Services Heating and Air.

A member of the family of God, Cody was an active church member of Victory Baptist Church of Campobello. He was an active Missionary of Kentucky and Peru and served in Mississippi during the hurricane Katrina relief. He was active with Help for the Homeless. In addition to his church life, he also loved outdoor activities and spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his parents and siblings are maternal grandmother Carrie Mae McFalls, paternal grandmother Carolyn Bradley (Garry) and Gettys Brown (Terry) as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cody was preceded in death by maternal grandfather Willie B. McFalls and Uncle Vance R. Newman.

His gentle spirit, compassionate nature and fun seeking character abide forever in the hearts of his innumerable friends. His unwavering devotion to being a steadfast friend leaves a lasting impact on all who loved him. The favorite verse he wore daily reminds us all that the Lord’s grace is our strength, “For with God nothing shall be impossible” (Luke 1:37).

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 12 from 5-8 p.m. at Petty’s Funeral Home Landrum, S.C. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at Peniel Baptist Church Tryon, N.C. Burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations to be made to Lisa Brown, c/o SECU, P.O. Box 335, Columbus, NC  28722 in order to help provide scholarships for the youth to go on mission trips.
