Lieberman also placed second in the state 2A indoor championships in February and finished with a career-best vault of 13-6 in both state championship meets.

At Montreat, Lieberman will join Surry Central’s Tyler Fitzgerald, who won both the state indoor and outdoor titles and signed a letter-of-intent with Montreat in January, and former Wolverine teammate Eli Hall, a rising junior.

In addition to earning all-state recognition with his state meet showing, Lieberman was named to the All-Western North Carolina outdoor and indoor teams by the Citizen-Times.

Lieberman is one of three Polk County graduates with plans to continue their athletic careers in college, joining India Godlock (UNC Greensboro track, cross country) and Ashley Ponder (USC Union softball).
