Polk County Commissioners met this year’s YouthVoice delegate during its meeting on Monday, June 19. Anastasia Ballard is a Polk County High School student as well as a member of the Polk County 4-H Club and was selected as this year’s delegate. Students are selected from 4-H and boys and girls clubs of North Carolina and attend the North Carolina Association of County Commissioner’s Annual Conference to learn what county governments do and the role of county commissioners. Ballard spoke to commissioners and is pictured with the full board, including county manager Marche Pittman and commissioners Ray Gasperson, Jake Johnson, Tommy Melton, Shane Bradley and Myron Yoder.
