John Bauduin Jeanson

John Bauduin Jeanson, 89, of Green Creek, N.C. passed away, Wednesday evening, June 14, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, he was the son of the late Nicholas J. Jeanson and Huberta Messelaar Jeanson. Mr. Jeanson served in the Dutch Royal Navy and came to America in 1961 after emigrating to Canada in 1955. He was a clothing designer for many companies and ended his career by designing the children’s line for Osh Gosh BGosh. In 1992, he moved to Green Creek, N.C. Mr. Jeanson was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Tryon, N.C. and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus.

Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Jean Lavington Jeanson; four sons, Hans Jeanson of Olive Branch, Miss., Frank Jeanson (Lisa) of Mars, Pa., Michael Jeanson (Sandy) of McComb, Miss. and Thomas Jeanson (Kristin) of Wilmington, Del.; two daughters, Sharon Shelton (Brian) of Charlottesville, Va. and Judy Burns (Tim) of Las Vegas, Nev.; four sisters, Nettie Bezooyes of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Betty Jeanson of Utrecht, Holland, Lidy Jeanson and Marianne Jeanson both of Amsterdam, Holland.  Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one great grandchild, Noel.

A Rosary will be held following visitation from 5:30 to 7:30 Friday evening, June 23, 2017 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C.

A funeral mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday Morning, June 24, 2017 in St. John’s Catholic Church, Tryon, N.C. with Father Roger Arnsparger officiating.
