LANDRUM – The 2017 Landrum Quilt Show saw 1,200 people in attendance, which was over 100 people more than last year’s show.
Landrum City Council met Tuesday, June 13 and heard from Landrum Quilters Delia Dorn about the show, which was held on June 8, 9 and 10.
Dorn said the show advertised regionally and locally as well as set up a Facebook page and posted about the sponsors. The Facebook page had over 7,000 reaches and several people shared the event.
A survey taken at the quilt show concluded that 20 percent of people who came heard about it through word of mouth, 23 percent said they always come and 40 percent said they heard about it through print media.
“We are really grateful for the support of the community and the sponsors,” Dorn said, including the city and the Landrum Area Business Association (LABA).
The show had 181 quilts, which were all made by Landrum Quilters.
