Polk County District Court results for May 31

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 222 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Joseph Daniel Anderson was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Anderson was fined $40 and court costs.

Conner Joshua Baucom was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Baucom was fined $100.

Brandon Scott Boone was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Boone was sentenced to one day in jail.

Jennifer Marie Davis was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Davis was fined $50 and court costs.

Alexander D. Dollar was convicted of exceeding posted speed. Dollar was fined $100 and court costs.

Jamie Robinson Hill was convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia. Hill was sentenced to 77 days in jail with credit for time served.

Matthew M. Hoffmeier was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Hoffmeier was fined $92 and court costs.

Blake Loftis was convicted of two counts of probation violation. Loftis’ probation was revoked with credit for seven days.

Hannah Jane Phillips was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Phillips was fined $50.

Angela Elizabeth Steep was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Steep was fined $40 and court costs.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office Report

During the month of May 2017, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office answered 634 calls for service.

There were 16 felony arrests, 31 misdemeanor arrests and 33 citations issued.

Officers completed 958 house checks, 2,436 business checks, 1,331 church checks, served 81 civil papers, 24 criminal papers, assisted the public eight times and patrolled 19,474 miles.

Deputies spent 672 hours at St. Luke’s Hospital for involuntary commitments.

The Polk County Jail booked a total of 95 inmates, including 66 males and 29 females.
