Recently, Brian Metcalf, general manager at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon, saw a wish list on the Steps to HOPE website and decided to take action. McFarland’s purchased and Mr. Metcalf delivered not one, but two, new TVs for use in the shelter at Steps to HOPE.

The wish list is located at stepstohope.org under “How to Help” and includes items to make a stay in the shelter as comfortable as possible. Items range from inexpensive kitchen towels and alarm clocks to bigger ticket items like furniture and household appliances.

Every donation counts, is appreciated, and is either sold in our Second Chance Thrift Store benefiting the shelter, used in the shelter, or given to a client to help them get established in a new home, safe from the horrors of domestic violence. Donations are tax-deductible so donors help themselves while they help others.
