Celebrate summer with outdoor movies! Polk County Public Libraries present Movies in the Park at Stearns in Columbus on the last Saturday of the month in June, July, and August. These programs are made possible by a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation. Bring low chairs or a blanket, snacks and drinks, and your family and friends! Movies will start at dusk, approximately 8:30 p.m., but come early to find a good spot. In the event of rain, the program will take place inside Stearns Gym.

On June 24, watch The Princess Bride. Come early for trivia about real-life royalty! The Sound of Music will play on July 29 and everyone is invited to sing along with Maria during the movie. The program series wraps up on August 26 with The Wizard of Oz. Come dressed up as your favorite character and enter the Oz costume contest!
