After the fall season we had with wildfires burning all around our region, many people have realized the importance of mitigating risks as well as knowing how to respond in the case of a wildfire.
On Monday, June 12 at noon there will be a free informational session led by Brian Rogers, Polk County’s Forest Service ranger, on how to help minimize the risk of damage to your home during a wildfire, what to do in an emergency situation, and general information on wildfires and safety here in Polk County.
The session will be held in the conference room on the ground floor of the Mill Spring Ag Center located at 156 School Road in Mill Spring. The event is organized by Alex Kazer and Amy DeCamp, AmeriCorps members from the office of Agricultural Economic Development, and Seth Young of Polk County Recreation.
