The Landrum Library is excited to welcome world-famous author Lisa Wingate at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13. Ms. Wingate will be discussing her new book, “Before We Were Yours,” and the fascinating true story behind her novel.

From the 1920s through the 1950s, thousands of children were taken from their parents by the Tennessee Home Society and placed with adoptive families, without any permission from their birth parents. “Before We Were Yours” tells the story of one such child, Rill Foss, as she and her siblings wait in an orphan house for someone to adopt them.
