Tryon Arts & Crafts School seeks summer intern

Thanks to a grant from the Polk County Community Foundation, Tryon Arts & Crafts School at 373 Harmon Field Rd. is seeking a summer intern to work at the school this summer.

Through administrative work with the executive director and staff, the intern will learn the various facets of TACS’ non-profit organization, and be exposed to work in classes and workshops, marketing and social media, operations, fundraising, budgeting, staging events and gallery shows and work with the students at our craft summer camp.

Students applying must be at least 16 years old at the start of the internship and plan to attend high school or a home school program as a junior or senior in the fall. Interns must have permanent residence in the Polk County and Landrum zip codes.

Interviews will take place on June 5 and 6, with work commencing on June 12   and running through August 10. The work week will be 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, but can be flexible.
