Patriot Camp at ICC will promote teen health and wellness

Isothermal Patriot Camp is designed to engage rising 7-9 graders (current 6-8 grade) grade students in whole body health and wellness activities. Camps are led by Isothermal Instructors. Campers will be engaged in hands-on learning activities including team sport intramurals, healthy cooking, cross training, nutrition, and mental health, and swimming. The camp will be held June 26-30 on the Isothermal campus. Each day will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. with wrap around care provided for participants between 7:30 and 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m. Lunch and snacks will be provided. In addition to hands on activities, there will be field trip opportunities to team ropes courses and hiking.
Typical day at camp
- The day begins in small group class blocks where you may be engaged activities related to circuit training, nutrition, health, or mental balance
- At mid-day the full camp will come together to engage in team building intramural sports
- Groups will take turns working with professional chefs to prepare healthy lunches
- After lunch, the full camp will participate in swimming pool activities
- Afternoon small groups handled similar to the morning small groups
- Daily awards ceremony
Applications are taken until all camp spaces are filled, so apply early. The application must include an essay describing your interest in attending the camp and a teacher recommendation. These will be considered by the committee during the selection process.
There are registration fees for the camp. Once a student is accepted to the camp, full payment will be due by June 1. A limited number of scholarships are available for students needing financial assistance. Information about how and where to make payments and will be provided to students who are accepted.
Cancellation in writing must be submitted on or before June 15 to receive a refund. There will be no refunds after June 15.
