Ponder, three Polk juniors named to all-WHC softball squad

A senior and three Polk County juniors have been named to the all-Western Highlands Conference softball squad.

Senior Ashley Ponder, who has signed to play collegiately at USC Union, and juniors Haley Fowler, Maranda Gosnell and Autumn Owen were all chosen for the all-conference team.

Madison’s Hannah Jennings earned player of the year honors while Owen’s Jaiden Tweed was named pitcher of the year.

Madison coach Andy Gregg, who led the Patriots to the Western Regional finals, received coach of the year honors.
