The Tryon Little Theater will hold its annual meeting Wednesday, June 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Parker-Binns Vineyard and Winery located at 7382 Highway 108 in Mill Spring. All theatre lovers are welcome to attend.
The evening will begin with fellowship and complimentary heavy hors d’oeuvres, along with wine. Then outgoing board president and vice president, Susie Kocher and Chris Tinkler, will introduce the 2017-18 theatrical season and each show’s director, who will speak briefly on their thoughts for their production.
TLT scholarship winners will be presented, continuing TLT’s long history of assisting young talent as they pursue their education and training.
And those attending will be brought up to date on plans for a capital campaign to secure funds to build – at long last –
TLT’s own theatre home on the property bought this past year on North Trade Street just below Tryon Elementary School. TLT was founded in 1948, and has always used someone else’s facilities – be it a church hall, a restaurant, the Tryon Fine Arts Center, a former skating rink and currently a former auto parts store. Now after 69 years, a building of their own designed just for them.
June 7 is a fine occasion to renew your TLT membership or join for the first time, and to learn about volunteer opportunities with this vibrant group.
