Spring pottery sale and kiln opening Saturday

On Saturday, May 20, a selection of Tyson Graham’s gas-fired redware will be on display in the showroom of Little Mountain Pottery, 6148 Peniel Rd. in Tryon from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Graham will unload new pots from the gas kiln at 11 a.m.

Graham creates functional pottery adorned with flowers, birds, trees, and musical instruments. Working primarily with red earthenware and slip decoration, he draws inspiration for his work from the seasonal variations of life and nature as they unfold in the Foothills of western North Carolina. Graham holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of South Carolina and completed an apprenticeship under Claude Graves.
