On May 20, Johnny Burrell of McFarland Funeral Chapel will celebrate 22 years of service.

Johnny is a native of Polk County and came to work with McFarland’s on May 20, 1995. Before coming to McFarland’s, Johnny had worked with the Town of Tryon. Johnny takes pride in maintaining the building and grounds at McFarland Funeral Chapel and Polk Memorial Gardens. Johnny is also a Certified Crematory Operator. 

“Johnny is a jack of all trades and is always pitching in to help do whatever needs to be done” says manager, Brian Metcalf.

Johnny retired as a volunteer fireman from Tryon Fire Dept. after serving Polk County for 24 years.

Johnny loves working outdoors and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Carole, have two daughters, Jessica and Carolyn, and a grandson, Christian.
