Celebrating Older Americans Month, May 23

Rodney Greene and Time-Out Management are pulling out all the stops in Polk County’s inaugural Prime of Life Festival, the county’s newest event. The Prime of Life Festival, a senior lifestyle and wellness event, has been successful in neighboring Rutherford County for both current and up and coming seniors and their families, and now is the time to bring this opportunity to Polk County as well.

What began as approximately 40 vendors catering to our seniors has grown to over 70 vendors who will be waiting to serve each attendee. Expected attendance will be from Polk County and surrounding counties such as Rutherford, Henderson and Spartanburg. We are expecting our largest crowd in attendance ever.

We invite you to come join us for Polk County’s first Prime of Life Event, Tuesday, May 23, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tryon Resort/Tryon International Equestrian Center, 4066 Pea Ridge Road, Mill Spring.

With sponsors like St. Luke’s Hospital, Rutherford Regional Health System, Carolina Chiropractic Plus, Allstate – Randy McKinney Agency, Ohmstead Plumbing, HomeTrust Bank, Marburger Chrysler Jeep and Ram, Forest City Honda, Isothermal Planning and Development, Pardee UNC Health Care and Journey Christian newspaper, this is an event you will not want to miss!

The Prime of Life brings vendors who specialize in senior living and lifestyles together in one place offering a plethora of knowledge, opportunities and services in a one-stop-shop atmosphere. During your time at the Prime of Life Festival there will be chances to win prizes and giveaways. Upon arrival you will be able to purchase raffle tickets. Each winning basket is worth over $100 each with a Grand Prize giveaway of a $250 travel gift certificate!

There will also be an ice-cream social sponsored by Ohmstead Plumbing, a faithful supporter of the Prime of Life Festivals. At noon, world-renowned Elvis tribute artist, Stephen Freeman, will top off the Prime of Life Festival with a special performance. Stephen and his “Tribute to Elvis” band have opened for Charlie Daniels and Lee Brice and in 2009 Stephen won the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino.

In this ideal venue at Tryon Resort/Tryon International Equestrian Center, both St. Luke’s Hospital and Allstate Insurance’s Randy McKinney, a lifelong sponsor of the Prime of Life, will be sharing their knowledge, expertise and valuable information in two scheduled break-out sessions.

Through the Prime of Life Festival, there is the hope to make positive changes to senior lives by providing them, their family and loved ones with valuable information on the wide range of products and services that are afforded them. The goal of The Prime of Life Festival for upcoming retirees is to be the best hub to gain knowledge and information on how to better plan for retirement, personal comfort and independence and much, much more.
