FENCE presents family concert featuring Dan Keller Trio
Published 5:30 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2017
On Sunday, May 21 at 4 p.m. the Dan Keller Trio will perform at Foothills Equestrian Nature Center (FENCE). This performance is part of FENCE’s monthly, free family concert series. These concerts are free and open to the public. All are encouraged to attend this great family event. Following the performance refreshments will be served.
The Dan Keller Trio consists of three of Asheville’s hardest working jazz musicians: Micah Thomas, Ryan Kijanka and Dan Keller. The trio has played in venues across the eastern U.S. from Charleston, S.C. to Plainville, Conn. and witnessed Micah’s brief career as a comedian while stuck on the “quiet ride” on one of Philadelphia’s public trains.
Specializing in daring improvisations, novel arrangements and subtly incorporating elements of classical, funk and rock music for an occasional surprise, the musicians continue their path towards a unique group sound and tightness, which is too often absent in jazz.
FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon. For more information about this or upcoming events, visit fence.org or call 828-859-9021.
