Guest speakers are partners in Palmetto Bee & Honey Company

The Polk County Beekeepers Association began meeting monthly in February of this year. The group has met and discussed the various stages of beehive activity and the support required for each month of the year.
The Polk County Beekeepers invite new and seasoned beekeepers to the monthly meetings. The group provides a support for new beekeepers. The next meeting will feature Larry Vickery and Dennis Iskra who will be speaking on what’s going on in the hive and what beekeepers should be doing now and the next month. Larry is a fourth generation beekeeper and Dennis has been keeping bees for six years. They both are journeymen in the S.C. State Master Beekeeping Program. Dennis and Larry are also partners in Palmetto Bee & Honey Company.
The next meeting is Thursday, May 18 from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Mill Spring Ag Center, 156 School Rd Mill Spring, N.C. The Polk County Beekeeping Association meets the third Thursday of the month. It is open discussion, so come be part of the group and share experiences and questions. Light refreshments will also be served. For more information please call Lisa Krolak at 828-279-9643.
