Don’t miss an evening to remember, June 3, 6 – 10 p.m. on the grounds of the Mimosa Inn on Lynn Road, right next door to the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce.

Adding croquet, shuffleboard, and other games to the grounds of the Mimosa Inn will enhance the perfect backdrop to Screen on the Green, a 2017 Tryon International Film Festival (TRIFF) fundraiser.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka and New View Realty are the two main sponsors dedicated to making the fundraiser fantastic. Also, don’t miss this opportunity to meet Lisa Diersen, the director/founder of EQUUS Film Festival, NYC and learn more about what’s in store for TRIFF17!

Screen on the Green is an evening of activity that will blend all of the elements of a great time:  southern food, the music from Gigi Dover, a special film, games and the community at large. The setting could not be any more perfect than on the grounds of the historic Mimosa Inn, on the verge of being brought back to life.

Mary Parker and her family will open their property and be on-hand to boast of their dreams of renovating the sleeping mansion.

Since the day the decision was made to hold the fundraiser at the Mimosa, organizers Kirk Gollwitzer and Beau Menetre began receiving precious memories from people who experienced life moments there.

Jim Jackson eloquently wrote in his memoirs that his own parents met each other at the Mimosa during a dance social. Pete and Cindy Viehman recently registered their excitement of the upcoming event, because it was at the Mimosa where they were married. Others recall sipping cocktails in the Mimosa’s bar, where each person kept their bottle in their own dedicated locker.

“Asking local artists to sponsor their cherished pieces of art in a silent auction is another way to bring everyone together during this special day,” said Gollwitzer, co-founder of the Tryon International Film Festival.

The event will begin with an art exhibit throughout the property and lawn games. As the sun sets, the music will begin and a southern BBQ dinner will be served. Then comes the popcorn and all will settle down on the lawn for a screening of a special film which captures the memories of two of Tryon’s treasured citizens.

Tickets can be found on Eventbrite: “Screen on the Green – Fundraiser at the Mimosa Inn,” Tryon Bottle, and at The Nest Artisan Market. Also visit www.tryoninternationalfilmfestival.com. If you would like to include your art in the fundraiser, contact Ashely Menetre at The Nest Artisan Market, 404-319-1052. Don’t forget your lawn chairs!
