Polk arrests several on drug charges Monday

MILL SPRING – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested six individuals in the Mill Spring area on Monday after approaching a residence and conducting a traffic stop next to a residence in Mill Spring. The investigation stemmed from complaints regarding suspicious activity in the Mill Spring and Sunny View communities with the investigation involving the sheriff’s office criminal investigation team, patrol and the Polk Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (PACE) team.

Caleb Patrie, 22, of Moore Rd. in Green Creek, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, according to sheriff reports.

Tiffany Watkins, 27, of Buzz Lane, Rutherfordton, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and served an order for arrest for failing to appear in court on a charge of possession of methamphetamine, according to sheriff reports.

Phillip Hicks, 44, of Rock Springs Rd. in Sunny View was charged with possessing marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia, according to sheriff reports.

Bradley Gevedon, 45, of Aden Green Rd. in Sunny View was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia, according to sheriff reports.

Matthew Kensland, 31, of Hidden Acres Rd., Mill Spring and Kathy Kensland, 31, of Hidden Acres Rd., Mill Spring were each charged with resisting a public officer, according to sheriff reports.

Patrie was still in jail as of Tuesday afternoon under a $30,000 secured bond, Watkins was still in jail as of Tuesday afternoon under a $26,000 bond and Hicks, Gevedon, Matthew Kensland and Kathy Kensland were all released on bond, according to the sheriff’s office.

Mug shots for those arrested were not available as of press time.
