Lanier Library: Carolina saga by an award-winning author
Published 11:08 am Wednesday, May 10, 2017
At the next Live@Lanier, you will find yourself in the sprawling apple orchards of Henderson County, living a family saga, part mystery, part love story. On Tuesday, May 16 at noon, author Rose Senehi will take you within the pages of her eighth book to meet Belle McKensie, a bitterly unforgiving woman hell bent on creating the “billion dollar” apple she’ll call the “Carolina Belle.” As you get drawn into this contemporary novel, you may never look at an apple the same way again.
Rose Senehi lives in Chimney Rock, N.C., and has won the IPPY Gold Medal for Fiction and Indi-Reader Discovery Award for Popular Fiction, as well as being nominated for the SIBA Book Award and Thomas Wolfe Memorial Literary Award.
Emoke B’Racz, poet and founder, Malaprop’s Book and Café, writes that after he finished “Carolina Belle,” he was “sorry to leave the landscapes and the people, and wanted to start my own apple tree from seed.”
Forbidden fruit or the best apple ever tasted? The answer awaits you at The Lanier Library, 72 Chestnut St., Tryon.
