Final Friends of Agriculture Breakfast planned for May 17

Polk County Office of Agricultural Economic Development and Polk County Farm Bureau invite the public to their final Friends of Agriculture Breakfast of the season on Wednesday, May 17 at 7 a.m.

Each Friends of Agriculture Breakfast features a local food breakfast and an educational presentation on areas of interest to our community of farmers, gardeners, and food enthusiasts. This is a free event held at the 4-H Building, 135 Locust St., in Columbus.

This month’s breakfast will feature a presentation on the state of agriculture in North Carolina, from Bill Yarborough, special assistant to the commissioner of agriculture, with NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Donations of canned foods will be collected at this event to benefit the clients of Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry.​​​
