PCMS Nature Navigators see fire damage at Party Rock

Polk County Middle School’s Nature Navigators went on a hike up to Party Rock on March 22. We had a great time hiking. It was a long way up and quite steep. Most of the way up we saw scars from the forest fire. There was a 1971 Ford F-100 about 8/10 of a mile up the mountain. The gauges had been popped out of it and the leather on the seats had melted off from the fire. After posing for some cool pictures with the truck, we still had a pretty good walk to the top. The view was breathtaking, but believe me, so was the hike. (Submitted by PolkStudents.com)
