Community-created collage art project on display

The community comes together for the unveiling of The UNITY Project on Sunday, May 7 at 3 p.m. at Tryon Fine Arts Center. Residents of Polk County and Landrum have completed over 150 individual mixed-media collages. Using paint, fabric, newsprint, personal photos and more each panel defines what “unity” means for the Foothills. The panels will be displayed together in Tryon Fine Arts Center’s Gallery I.

In addition to the smaller panels, professional artists from the community have collaborated on three large collage panels that give a different vision of unity, and showcase our talented working artists. The three large panels will also be revealed for the first time at the reception.
