Final performances for TLT’s “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike”

Directed by Scott Waddell, “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” opened Thursday, April 27 at the Tryon Little Theater Workshop, and is running May 4-7 for its final weekend. Written by Cristopher Durang, the original Broadway production won the Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play in 2013.
The story-line revolves around three siblings, two of whom have led boring, uneventful lives in the family home in Bucks County, Pa., caring for their now-deceased parents. Their movie-star sister swoops in for a visit, bringing with her a much younger lover, and a whole lot of drama. Add a psychic cleaning woman and a neighbor’s star-struck visiting niece, and the result is one hilarious, yet touching vignette.
The show runs May 4-6 at 8 p.m and at 3 p.m. on May 7 at the Tryon Little Theater Workshop at 516 S. Trade St. in Tryon. Tickets are available at tltinfo.org or by calling 828-859-2466.
