Woman dies after being struck by rollback on U.S. 74

MILL SPRING – A 48-year old woman died Saturday, April 29 after being struck by a rollback on U.S. 74.
Cheyanne Marie Griffin, of Fletcher, died at the scene, according to investigators.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m. Saturday along U.S. 74-East near mile marker 172.
EMS crews said Griffin and her boyfriend were hauling a car on a rollback. The hood blew off the car they were hauling so they stopped and the woman got out of the truck to retrieve it, according to reports.
The boyfriend backed the truck up and struck her, according to reports, and responders found the woman dead from her injuries, which were described as massive.
The woman was transported to the morgue around 6:30 p.m.
The N.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. No charges have been made.
