Saluda Arts Festival highlights area artists
Since 1878, when the passengers first arrived by train in Saluda, artists have settled and built a colony of artists creating in all mediums – visual, performing, and writing. It’s this heritage that Saluda celebrates and recognizes every spring with the Saluda Arts Festival.
This annual springtime event blossoms each May with fine art and crafts and the best of the region’s musical talent. Now in its 15th year, the festival draws visual and performing artists to the town’s authentic, homespun charm and friendly people. This year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature talented artists of all backgrounds from all over the upstate of South Carolina, western North Carolina and from right around the bend in the train tracks here in Polk County.
