On Monday, April 17 there will be a free day at Pearson’s Falls for all Polk County residents. The schools are closed that day. Bring children and friends to hike and enjoy the wildflowers along the Colt’s Creek trail.

The Pearson’s Falls Docent Corps is made up of members of the Tryon Garden Club. They will be stationed along the trail from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. to point out the many blooming wildflowers and answer your questions. Groups can walk along at their own pace and enjoy the quarter-mile hike to the falls. Bring a picnic or snack and take advantage of the new benches and picnic tables.

The event is free to everyone in Polk County. No registration is necessary. Pearson’s Falls and Glen are open daily from 10 a.m. am until 6 p.m. For more information call Pearson’s Falls at 828-749-3031 or visit pearsonsfalls.org.
