Girl Scout Troop 1819 wants to make new friends by encouraging more girls to join their fun.

We just started a few months ago and we meet at least twice a month. Some of the fun things we have already done are: A costume party, World Thinking Day, a service project, marched in parades and we sold cookies. Our future projects include camping, boating, archery, badges and awards, and more service projects.

Some of the badges we will be working on are animal ownership and animal habitats, flowers and gardening, and outdoor fun. Our badges help teach self-esteem and independence.

We are Columbus Troop 1819 for girls in fourth and fifth grades. We meet at the Columbus Methodist Church located at 76 North Peak Street in Columbus.

Cameron Hodges says she likes Girl Scouts because it is fun and she really likes Leader Jennifer Pittman.

“I think Girl Scouts is one of the best things I’ve ever done,” said Hodges.  “I can’t wait to get more badges.”

Kalie Ward says she likes Girl Scouts because there are so many fun activities.

“I’m looking forward to going camping and doing animal badges,” said Ward. “It’s the best because you get to help and serve other people and the community.”

Anyone who would like to join our Girl Scout Troop 1819, is encouraged to contact Jennifer Pittman at 828-817-0641 or by email at JSmart.Pittman@gmail.com
