POLK COUNTY DISTRICT COURT RESULTS FOR MARCH 22

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 114 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Adam Patrick Burkart was convicted o intoxicated and disruptive and resisting public officer. Burkart was sentenced to three days in jail with credit for time served.

Brenda Hutchers Deck was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Deck was to pay court costs.

Carlos Ricardo Easter was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Easter was fined $40 and court costs.

Andrew Fraser was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Fraser was fined $30 and court costs.

Nevania Lise Guerrero was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Guerrero was fined $40 and court costs.

Bethany Elaine Johnson was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Johnson was fined $94 and court costs.

Irine Alexa Khabarova was convicted of rear seat belt violation. Khabarova was fined $100.

Galban Leonardo was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Leonardo was fined $40 and court costs.

Billy Joe Mills was convicted of level one driving while impaired. Mills was sentenced to two years in prison.

Adeyemi D. Odufaderin was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Odufaderin was fined $40 and court costs.

Kenny Wayne Pearson was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Pearson was fined $50 and court costs.

Chad Allen Rothaug was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Rothaug was fined $50 and court costs.

Rodney D. Shores was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 65 mph zone. Shores was fined $50 and court costs.

Tisha J. Smith was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation out of county. Smith’s probation was terminated.

Karen Elizabeth Swinkey was convicted of reckless driving-wanton disregard. Swinkey was fined $100 and court costs.

Ivey Amanda Williams was convicted of second-degree trespassing. Williams was fined $50 and court costs.

John Anthony Wright was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Wright was fined $75 and court costs.

TRYON POLICE DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT

During the month of February 2017, the Tryon Police Department answered 182 calls for service.

There were four citations issued, one warning citation, two accidents with property damage, two traffic controls, one arrest, 24 security checks, eight disturbance calls, seven investigations, 28 assists to other agencies and four unlocked vehicles.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY ARREST REPORT

March 21

Kimberly Black, 31, from Inman was arrested by the Landrum Police Department and charged with a Landrum Municipal Court offense. Black’s bond is set at $895.

March 24

Jamie McSwain, 37, from Landrum was arrested and charged with shoplifting. McSwain was later released.
